I am looking to do some paint correction on my 1936 Austin 10 Sherborne.
I believe the club do a reference book which is currently out of stock. Does anyone know what the modern paint code could be for my car which is Black
Thanks

There are said to be many shades of black. I think the club guide with suggested codes of modern colours assumes that the car is undergoing a complete repaint so the idea is to match it as closely as possible to original colours offered by Austin.
The car may have been repainted in its life and / or the colour will have faded. Apparently a spectrophotometer is fun to use but I have no idea what that is or where you can borrow/hire one.
You can look at some of the many "how to" guides on U-tube on the subject of paint matching without a code - with usual caveats about using advice found online!
Sorry, this is not very helpful.

Hi
If you take your car or a panel to a good respray firm they can check your paint and either make up some paint to match or tell you the nears black that will match your car. They are now quite accurate.
